Oberlohrs Arbeiten sind humorvoll, aufregend und stellen mit Leichtigkeit schwierige Fragen. Er stellt Formate auf den Kopf, erkundet Neuland, doch nie zum Selbstzweck, sondern immer, um den Erlebnischarakter seiner Shows zu erweitern. Ohne es zu wissen leitete er dabei eine „Trendwende hin zum modernen Illusionistentum“ ein (Kulturjournalistin Sandra Schäfer).
