tabula rasa project is the performance series of Austrian artist Philipp Oberlohr. At the intersection of theater, performance and illusions, Oberlohr creates meaningful encounters with the audience and invites them to doubt reality – in a playful and lighthearted way. The tabula rasa project's performances combine game theater, mind-reading illusions and funky ideas to create mind-expanding, interactive experiences. It’s time for tabula rasa*. A fresh start for the brain.

Time for tabula rasa*.

The Latin term tabula rasa (tabula "tablet" and rasa, radere "to scrape") originally refers to a wax-covered writing tablet that has been smoothed out by scraping off the writing, which allows one to once again write on it like on a blank page.

DOING THE UN•THINK•ABLE

About

Philipp Oberlohr raises more questions than he answers. The Irish Times calls him "super-natural," which he is definitely not. Metro London calls him "Vienna's master illusionist," which is not true either – because he comes from the heart of Tyrol.
